Suddenly finding myself incarcerated at age 50 for an unreasonably long sentence, is when I found the benefits of meditation at work.
Oh yes, prison was the last place I expected to experience ultimate freedom.
I felt disgraced as a failed financial advisor of 25 years taking a hard fall. But is when I was further stunned when the locker I was assigned at the foot of my bunk contained a worn, dusty book no one would claim.
A book for which it seemed I’d been searching for to no avail: A Course in Miracles.
My in-depth study during those 8 long years of prison, of its lessons, combined with frank descriptions of prison life, resulted in my ever-developing book series beginning with this trilogy:
The Master of Everything: A Story of Mankind and the World of Illusion We Call Life, next Mastering Your Own Spiritual Freedom was born, currently in print, and now volume III entitled, And Then I Knew My Abundance.
And the series continues.
This book series is for anyone wanting to find their true inner strength for creating the truest life they want to live.
Below are some select phrases I used during mindfulness meditation to see me through the volatile and often violent din of the cell block.
I arranged them for you in this post so you may contemplate the best manner for how they pertain to your life situations.
The benefits of meditation at work for choosing whether or not to be happy:
1– Each lilly of forgiveness offers all the world the silent miracle of love, peace and success.
2– Every decision you make stems from what you think you are, and represents the value that you put upon yourself.
3– Every loving thought is true. Everything else is an appeal for healing and help, regardless of the form it takes.
4– It’s every thought I have makes up some segment of the world I see. It is with your thoughts then, that we must work, if your perception of the world is to be changed.
5– Every time you choose whether or not to fulfill your passion—which is your function, you are really choosing whether or not to be happy.
7– Everything you perceive is a witness to the thought systems you want to be true.
8– Freedom is creation, because it is love. Whom you seek to imprison you do not love.
(Here’s a related article that sends us down to our own prison cell we make for ourselves and overcoming challenges in life…)
More benefits of meditation at work for healing and help:
9– Give truth its due, and it will give you yours. You were not meant to suffer and to die. Your Father wills these dreams gone. Let truth correct them all.
10– God gives you only happiness. Therefore, the function He gave you must be happiness, even if it appears to be different.
11– God is but Love, and therefore so am I. God is in everything I see. This explains why nothing is separate, by itself or in itself.
12– Have you really considered how many opportunities you have had to gladden yourself, and how many of them you have refused?
13– He who has escaped all fear of future pain has found his way to present peace. Place then, your future in the Hands of God.
14– Healing is accomplished the instant the sufferer no longer sees any value in pain. Health is the result of relinquishing all attempts to use the body lovelessly.
Benefits of meditation at work for understanding your Source of life:
15– I am as God created me. In this one thought is all the past undone; the present saved to quietly extend into a timeless future.
16– I will direct you to wherever you can be truly helpful, and to whoever can follow my guidance through you.
17– Ideas leave not their source. If this be true, how can you be apart from God? How could you walk the world alone and separate from your Source?
A Course in Miracles (ACIM) gives us an even more profound lesson: to focus on the light within ourselves means we are the Light, or Christ-mind.
This, which is the power within us to live a life of real meaning. We get in life what we focus on.
Continual focus on darkness leads us, as individuals and as a society, further into darkness. Focusing on our light brings us into the light.
My friend, the benefits of meditation at work for me helps me realize that you and I both–as-one, are of the Light.
